JOB DESCRIPTION

The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for leading RainTech’s technology strategy and driving infrastructure innovation. This role involves shaping the technical roadmap, overseeing system architecture, and ensuring that services remain secure, scalable, and aligned with industry best practices.

The role requires a strong background in designing and implementing advanced infrastructure solutions with dynamic and mission-critical environments.  

This position reports to: Chief Operating Officer 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap in alignment with the company’s business goals and growth plans 

Infrastructure Design & Management: Architect, implement, and optimize robust, secure, and scalable IT infrastructures that support MSP/MSSP operations and compliance requirements 

Team Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing technical team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement 

Innovation & Integration: Identify and integrate emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge while ensuring seamless integration with existing systems  

Risk and Compliance: Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to implement initiatives and compliance measures that safeguard sensitive data and ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements  

Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and key stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into actionable business strategies 

Escalation Engineer: Serve as senior technical escalation point for complex support issues  

Sales Engineer: Develop solutions for new sales or projects and assist the sales team with technical explanations 

Engagement & Growth: Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and key stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into actionable business strategies. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous growth through ongoing education, training, feedback, and innovation 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field – or equivalent experience 

  • Proven experience in a senior technical role, ideally within an MSP or MSSP environment 

  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and managing secure, scalable IT infrastructures, including cloud and on-premises solutions 

  • Exceptional strategic thinking, with the ability to align technological initiatives with broader business objectives and growth strategies 

  • Excellent mentorship and communication skills, with a history of building, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams 

  • Experience with professional services automation (PSA) and remote monitoring and management (RMM)

HR INFORMATION

Full-time position
Hybrid - work from the Colorado Springs office a few days a week
Schedule is Mondays to Fridays, 8 am to 5pm

Salary: $130,000 - $180,000 (commiserate with knowledge and experience)
